The Mascot

This is the remarkable true story of how Alex Kurzem unravelled the shocking secrets of his wartime past.

Alex was desperate to uncover the truth about his childhood during the Second World War.  He knew he had survived alone as a five-year-old in the forests of Russia, but could remember little else, not even his true name.  All he had were clues: the words Koidanov and Panok, a small battered suitcase crammed with memorabilia, and a photograph of himself as a boy, immaculately dressed in a miniature SS uniform.
